The US has recently increased funding substantially in this area and is already attracting such people. At the same time UK's research councils are struggling from fEC underfunding and in the case of STFC are cutting funds for young post-doctoral researchers by 25%. Will DIUS follow the lead of the US and provide the funding to increase the number of young researchers or should these researchers and their Professors move now to the USA ?" Show less »

Given the strategy on science being followed in the US, should the UK not be increasing its support for such subjects, rather than imposing severe cuts which will only drive the brightest and best to seek better opportunities across the Atlantic?

Show more »"Can you tell me why we are in the E.U, when all that happens is that it costs for us to be in it, as soon as another country joins they come straight over here to claim benefits because it is that easy, when an immigrant has there re-vue on if they can stay over here they get to have an appeal after appeal after appeal instead of just putting the illegal immigrants straight onto a plane and sending them back from which ever country they come from and the stopping them coming back in. Wouldn't it be better for us to be out of the E.U so our laws are our laws and not the E.U's laws. The government do not actually run this country but the E.U does. How much money could we save if we came out of the E.U and shut our borders thats the big question what this country could save from us running the country for us by us (the parliment) and not anyone else. Wouldn't our parents/grandparents be mad to say they died for this country to not to be rtaken over by Germany and they also died to help France not to be taken over by Germany and now Germany and France really run this country for there own GAINS.I am not racist has I come from a multi cultural family." I am a dissabled person age 36. I have a Capitol 1 visa card and within the space of around 3-6months they  have put my interest rates from 19.9% to 29.9% and now to 39.9%. I always pay money on the card every month, do you think this is fair for them to change the interest on my account twice and by so much that it will take me alot longer to pay this account off due to this and for me and my son to live very basic just to make the payments. I only owe around £1200 and if i pay £100 per month I will only be paying £60 off the account. Why and how can they be let to do this to people to cripple how they live just to earn more profit to be able to pay bigger and more then likely secret bonuses to there employers. Can you please let me know why this is happening to so many people who can only just live at the moment

With regards to immigration it seems the UK is filling up rapidly and the tax paters of the UK seem to foot the bill for the immigrants who: 1) Cannot work, 2) Generally cannot speak the Queens english , 3) Only come here as he have a good hand out system.

My advise to you is employ someone like myself who would sort thsi out for you for a small salary of £75K a year with no perks, lets look at New Zealand a model country who before they let anyone in ask the following: 1) Do you have work here?, 2) How much money do you have to support yourself?, if you have none of these BYE BYE!!, whats wrong with that? perfectly ok to me you have Germany, France, Holland let them have some of the immigrants (NO FREE HANDOUTS).

To even have a chance of winning the next election you really have to clamp donwn on this, like i said i would greatfully advise you on immigration.
